Earthquake
You've probably seen local TV news reports or read the newspaper articles about the fault line which runs through our area of the state. This is a good time to remind you that most insurance policies exclude coverage for damage done by any form of earth movement. But you can add earthquake coverage to your homeowner's or commercial policy by endorsement. The cost for this valuable coverage depends on what type of property you're insuring and the amount of coverage you need. Just give us a call and we'll tell you more about earthquake coverage.
Law and Ordinance Coverage
If your home or business had a loss, would your policy pay the cost of bringing the building into compliance with the current state and local buildings codes? Would your policy pay to upgrade the undamaged portion of your building in order to comply with building codes? Or, would your policy pay to demolish even the undamaged parts of the building because of local or state codes? Unless you have law and ordinance coverage, the answer is probably 'no'. Most property policies are written without this important coverage. You should check with us to see if your policy includes law and ordinance coverage. If it doesn't, you can probably add it to your policy at a modest cost. Just give us a call.
